چکیده

In order to advance the development of sensors fabricated with monofunctional sensation systems capable a versatile response tactile, thermal, gustatory, olfactory, and auditory sensations, mechanoreceptors as single platform an electric circuit require investigation. addition, it is essential resolve complicated structure sensor. realize platform, our proposed hybrid fluid (HF) rubber free nerve endings, Merkel cells, Krause end bulbs, Meissner corpuscles, Ruffini Pacinian corpuscles mimicking bio-inspired five senses are useful enough facilitate fabrication process for resolution structure. This study used electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) elucidate intrinsic physical mechanisms firing rate such slow adaption (SA) fast (FA), which were induced from involved capacitance, inductance, reactance, etc. HF mechanoreceptors. relations among rates various sensations clarified. The in thermal opposite that tactile sensation. gustation, olfaction, at frequencies less than 1 kHz have same present findings not only field neurophysiology, research biochemical reactions neurons brain perceptions stimuli, but also sensors, salient developments sensations.

Evaluation of gustatory and olfactory function among premenopausal and postmenopausal women and men

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The sense of taste is a chemical sense which allows everyone to perceive the flavor of what is eaten or drunk. Also, the sense of olfaction is also a chemical sense contributing to the sense of taste to perceive the taste and flavor of food. In the present work, the gustatory and olfactory function in pre- and postmenopausal women and men were studied and compared to each ot...

Phantom Tactile Sensations Modulated by Body Position

Bilateral activation of somatosensory areas after unilateral stimulation is assumed to be mediated by crosshemispheric connections. Despite evidence of bilateral activity in response to unilateral stimulation, neurologically intact humans do not experience bilateral percepts when stimulated on one side of the body. This may be due to active suppression of ipsilateral neural activity by inhibito...

Bodily illusions disrupt tactile sensations.

To accurately interpret tactile information, the brain needs to have an accurate representation of the body to which to refer the sensations. Despite this, body representation has only recently been incorporated into the study of tactile perception. Here, we investigate whether distortions of body representation affect tactile sensations. We perceptually altered the length of the arm and the wi...
